He doesn't want to go. It's his birthday, and... Yeah, they all know, he knows they do; he's not sure how, but somehow they will. He wouldn't put it past that witch to have charmed it out of the two bounty-hunting moron brothers with a flip of her shirt or something. Probably charged the rest of the crew for the information, too.
Last time he checked, birthdays are a pain in the ass, all too literally. And he just knows that Sanji isn't going to play nice; damn blond is still pissed over the other night. With any luck, the cook will use a paddle (since he definitely wouldn't use his hands for something like that). It's not that Zoro minds pain, exactly, but the curly-browed pervert is strong enough to raise welts with the regular wooden spoons and Zoro would like to be able to sit down while he's getting through the over-sweet fancily-frosted cake he's sort of dreading having to ingest. His tolerance for sweets isn't that great, either, after all.
He goes, anyway. And is bewildered by the smiling faces, the plain meal (just how he prefers it; the only decoration is on the girls' plates), the noise and (relatively) simple cake and wishing candles and singing. Nobody mentions spankings, and when he mutters something about it, Usopp looks at him archly and declares himself too old for those, so naturally... Sanji gets an unholy glimmer in his eye, though. "Spankings, huh?" And Zoro knows he's screwed.
Turns out, "screwed" is exactly the right term. It isn't until Sanji's rocking him into mindless bliss that night that the first blow falls, a stinging, barehanded slap. "That's one," the blond says. "You'd best keep count, or I might not stop when I get to how old you are."
