Sandai Kitetsu One More Time Sorta ZoSan
Nov. 18th, 2008 01:46 amTitle: Sandai Kitetsu
Rating: G
Word Count: 300 (whoohoo!)
Pairing: ZoSan if you squint
Topic: One More Time (Bad Company though it was originally Sanji's Left Eye again but it's late and I got confused so Bad Company, yes)
A/N: My third post! Screw grad school, I just want to write fanfiction, not some boring thesis! Also, I think I read a doujin like this, but I don't remember where/when.
Zoro's sword makes Sanji nervous, though he's careful never to show it. Not the white one, which shines comfortingly and makes Sanji feel warm inside, but one of the new ones Zoro acquired in Loguetown. The dark one.
He's encountered cursed objects before, but this one emanates menace so strong that it sometimes pains Sanji just to be near it. He's careful to avoid touching it, even during his fights with Zoro. But the presence inside the sword is markedly weaker when Zoro is wielding it. It is for that reason alone that Sanji does not fling the wretched thing into the ocean. Sanji knows he can trust the swordsman to control it.
Then came the night Sanji found himself alone with it.
He emerged from the men's quarters for his guard shift only to find the deck empty except for the swords left propped against the mast. The door to the hold was ajar. Sanji snorted. Zoro had left guard to use the bathroom again.
That's when he heard it. The voice from the dark aura that always surrounded the cursed sword.
“You...”
The hiss was filled with hate and rage. Despite himself, Sanji flinched away, regarding the sword warily.
“You think he can control me?”
The shadows around the sword grew darker, creeping up to Sanji. He tried to move away, but they covered his feet quickly, then leisurely move up his body. He stood, voice frozen in his throat.
“He's strong, but he won't last forever. I always find a way.”
The shadows wrapped around him, gentle as a lover, inescapable as a prison. He reached for the dark sword and felt it warm and wrong in his hands.
“Every man has his weakness.”
Sanji gasped as his hands unsheathed the weapon.
“Guess where his weakness lies?”
