Notes: I write the weirdest shit when I'm hungry. Muahahaaha. I was trying to go for those weirdly erotic and violent folk tales that have been sanitised to sparkling G nowardays. Based extremely loosely on a short story by Miyazawa Kenji.
Foxes are cunning creatures. They calculate and transform into the form of the being their prey most desires. Usually, with human men, this meant a beautiful virgin. Sometimes however, there are exceptions.
His home was an abandoned cottage that he kept covered in mist, to give the illusion of it being a grand restaurant that a vulnerable traveller would want to see sincerely. He found it amusing that humans could believe such a luxurious building would exist so deep in the forest, but not a single one of them doubted what their eyes saw before they stepped inside the door, never to come out again.
Lately, the humans were getting sparse.
He was starving. He could not afford to be picky. He boiled rabbit with mushrooms as he remembered the crispy golden shank he had eaten, saliva flooding his mouth at the juicy memory of human flesh. He took a bite and frowned. It was only humans that could give him the strength to use enchantment, and without it, he was but a primitive beast.
It was the scent of cooking rabbit that attracted the ape to his front steps. The ape bounced on all fours, demanding a share of the tasty meat. The fox grinned a predators smile and welcomed the creature into his home, disguising himself into the most gentlest of maidens, seemingly harmless and delicate in every gesture.
The fox asked the ape to wash before he entered any further. He rubbed spices and salt onto the apes back, informing him it was a type of massage. After powdering the body well, the fox announced he needed to bathe, and led the ape into a tub full of oil.
The ape smiled brilliantly and pulled the illusion of a girl to him.
“You’re bathing with me fox.”
