“Shit.”

Regaining consciousness in a pool of blood, with a massive headache, was one of that situations Sanji wished he’d never found in. Not to mention If the blood belonged to one of his nakama and both of them were lying in a fucking snow carpet.

Sanji loved snow. He loved winter, loved the cold breeze and the light caress of snowflakes against his pale skin. That felt like home. He didn’t remember much about that: his town, his family or his house… but the snow: you can’t forget the first time your feet tried that path or the first snowball fight, when your hands were just too tiny to grab enough snow and you’re too clumsy to manage a good shot.

At the moment however snow wasn’t such a blessing and the cook could bet Zoro didn’t like that at all, injuries or not.

He sat up slowly, trying not to jolt his head too much; his efforts were vain though: his vision blurred and pain exploded even more fiercely than before.

“Shit…”

Doing his best to ignore the splitting pain Sanji couldn’t ignore what came next. On his knees, he bent forward retching violently. When he was done he cleaned his mouth and covered the mess with trembling hands.

“Shit.”

“You’ve already said that,” uttered a gruff voice “a couple of times.”

“Shut up, shitty Marimo, I’m not in the mood…”

The cook tone was irritated as usual, but he couldn’t hide a tang of relief at that sound. The idiot was going to be fine.

“Well, let me know when y-”

*thump*

“Asshole.”

Sanji smirked at the insult.

His hands were big enough now, he wasn’t clumsy anymore and the Marimo was being his usual annoying self.

Yeah, snow was a blessing even in that circumstance.
