It doesn't seem like long, only a minute, but in truth it's the minor seconds that shape lives.

It only took Sixty Seconds for a neck to snap on a staircase, and for promises of future battles to shatter.
Only Sixty Seconds for the shoulder to stop stinging where the tattoo burned into tainted flesh, proof of betrayal.
Despite unpopular belief, it only took a Sixty Seconds for desperate pleas to turn into reassuring falsehoods that would shape his world.
And after so many days, it only took Sixty Seconds for hunger to realize food doesn't glitter like that.
It only takes Sixty Seconds to consume a toxin, and only a few hours more for it to take full effect.
It only took Sixty Seconds for a book to smoulder into dust and become lost, like that island and all it's knowledge.

It only took Sixty Seconds for flesh to be torn limb from limb, but many hours more to piece them back together with metal and memories.
It only took a minute to wave a friend farewell, but it would take over a lifetime for either to forget.

 

It only took a Sixty Seconds for a Three Billion Watt grin to bury its way into their hearts, only Sixty Seconds to meet Monkey D. Luffy.
And it was those Sixty Seconds that would change the World

 

 

 

Ahhh I’m so nervous now! I am a long time lurker, first time poster!  I just saw the prompt and HAD to pen it, I have never had such drabble inspiration.  So kinda rubbish and vague and sparse, but I hope you enjoy!

That was my favorite line. It just kind of strikes home, I think.
