Good things rarely take long for Roronoa Zoro.
It took sixty seconds for the ship to dock in front of the building, thus bringing its few inhabitants into the face of a new adventure.
It took sixty seconds for Luffy to launch himself off the boat to start making trouble.
It took sixty seconds before Zoro caught the sounds of angry shouts and the rubber captain's footsteps running back toward them.
It took sixty seconds for a door to open, revealing a tall blonde clad completely in black.
It took sixty seconds for Zoro to absorb the man's features. He noticed th lustrous blonde tresses, the stylish, classy suit, the steady click-click of the man's shoes in time to his steps. He noticed the sexy goatee, the adorkable swirly eyebrow, and right under it -and this was the most important- a single azure blue eye staring from under the golden halo.
The gaze wasn't directed at Zoro, but it only took sixty seconds for him to realise he wasn't looking at a man, he was looking at an angel.
And it took sixty seconds to realise he was in love.
Unfortunately, bad things happen fast, too.
It took sixty seconds for a demon in a man's clothing to jump off his ship and start running toward the blonde.
It took less than sixty seconds for a blur, and a painful scream.
It took sixty seconds before for Zoro's angel was sprawled on the ground, screaming a string of curses and clutching at a damaged face.
It took sixty seconds for silent tears to well up in Zoro's eyes and come splashing hotly down his cheeks.
It took sixty seconds for a scream to build, and another sixty seconds to release all the outrage, horror and sheer fury that had been brewing in Zoro's chest.
Yes, it took Zoro sixty seconds to break down and scream to the heavens for his lost love;
"FUCK YOU, SANJI! DUVAL WAS FUCKING GORGEOUS!"

Date: 2009-04-09 03:24 am (UTC)When Duval is first revealed, everyone -- including Zoro -- thinks that he and Sanji look alike. Does that mean that in a roundabout way, Zoro thinks Sanji is good-looking, too? Perhaps it was just Duval's winning personality that really makes Zoro go all fanboy-ish.
