Because Even 'Bambi Eyes' Won't Get You Everything
It was the smell of fresh-baked cookies that lured him to peek through the galley porthole, but now he stayed just to watch the drama unfold.
“San-ji.”
“No.”
“San-ji…"
“No.”
“San-ji……”
“I said ‘no,’ Luffy!”
Usopp snickered to himself as he watched his captain attempt to win over the cook, and by the look of things Sanji wasn’t budging.
Until…oh, no…it wasn’t…
Yes. It was.
Luffy’s eyes got wider, his bottom lip quivering a bit, and he let out the most piteous noise known to mankind. A noise Usopp heard every time Luffy woke him up for some midnight fishing fun. A noise that he was sure even the trash-talking cook couldn’t ignore.
“Saaaaaaannnnnnjiiiiiiiii….”
And Usopp watched Sanji flinch at the sound and grip the counter before he turned and replied, sounding pained as the word slid through gritted teeth, “One.”
“Yay, thank you, Sanji!” Luffy’s rubbery arm snagged the cookie and was gone, and Usopp’s mind began to churn.
Because really, if that was all it took to get Sanji to give up a cookie…well, if Luffy could do it, then naturally the great Captain Usopp-sama could do it twice as well. In fact, he might even get two cookies!
Striding into the kitchen, he attempted to copy Luffy exactly. Wide eyes, check. Pouty lip, check. Voice at an appropriate level of whininess…
“Saaanjj….”
BLAM.
And Usopp decided, as he was flying through the air, that perhaps he should ask Luffy for advice.
Because it was obvious that the other boy knew something he didn’t.
A/N: And 'pouty' is SO a word. I refuse to care that spell-check disagrees with me XP
