There were some things that took getting used to when dealing with the cook in ‘that way.’
“Nami-san, Robin-chan!”
Zoro would never admit to the burning jealousy he felt when he saw the women being served with special care while he was lucky to catch the misshapen pastries thrown his way on occasion, or the way the man would dote on any women he encountered in the most sickening fashion.
Sanji was his, wasn’t he?
“I baked coconut macaroons!”
Zoro grumbled as he turned on his belly, moodily examining an ant in the grass that had somehow survived all the crap this ship went through. I don’t need his damned cookies, or attention, or…affection…
Sanji glanced over at the brooding swordsman, an odd expression on his face.
“Marimo.”
“What?”
A plate with a warm macaroon was plated gently in front of Zoro’s face, much to his surprise.
“One cookie for you.”
Zoro regarded the perfectly-baked cookie with suspicion and bit into it; it was scrumptious. He raised an eyebrow questioningly.
“Don’t forget,” Sanji said as he sauntered back to the kitchen.
“What…?” Zoro asked in surprise, brushing crumbs from his face.
Sanji smiled tenderly. “That you’re the only one for me, Zoro.” He disappeared into the galley, leaving a pleasantly astonished swordsman behind. He counted in his head.
Three…two…one.
The door to the galley banged open as Zoro hurled into the room, throwing his arms around Sanji.
“You had better not forget,” Zoro mumbled into Sanji’s soft hair, clutching the man to his chest for dear life.
Sanji merely smiled, breathing in the scent of coconut that still lingered in the air.
