Here goes nothin'... (really)
Oct. 18th, 2004 10:00 amEver have an idea that sounded good in your head, but refused to make that transfer to text? Ya, this is one of those. Apologies in advance, but the mental image that spawned this was too cute not to share... just wish I could have captured it better. (Also, sorry for the het... um. Don't kill me? )
This of course, assumes they all LIVE to see 'retirement'... ^_~
Title: Coming home
Rating: G
Word count: 299
Pairing: Faint ZoLu, and fainter SanUssoKaya. Ya, you read that right. Just didn't work too well, so it was mostly cut. -_-
Notes: Cut and shuffled, and cut some more...
Forgive me my surely criminal use of the comma.
A scarred man made his way steadily up the path, heeding an unspoken call. This route, he knew by heart.
At the mansion on the hill two girls played, hanging on rubber limbs that never tired. They never guessed their playmate was a frequent subject of their bedtime stories- though later they might. For now, playing was all that mattered.
Some years after leaving, Ussop finally returned home as promised, with tales of adventures for his princess- enough for a lifetime. Now he raised his own ‘pirate crew’, captain in their eyes- though they always got their own way. Sanji saw to that, spoiling them when he could.
They had parted years ago, scattering to the wind- but somehow they always returned here. Some more often than others, but they all came. Sometime along their travels, 'Nakama' also started to mean 'home'.
Luffy, here more often than not, played the part of uncle perhaps too well, but not as masterfully as ‘toy’. Another squeal of delight proved this point and as he neared, Zoro smiled despite himself. Those kids had to have the strangest family ever.
The first bullies to show their faces had nightmares for a week after a fatefully timed visit from ‘Unkey’ Zoro; and all he did was look at them. Had they seen him later, when Luffy all but wrapped himself around ‘Unkey Zoro’ in an overjoyed greeting, they may have… no- they’d still have had nightmares. Possibly more.
The girls didn’t understand why, but they were likely the only other ones, save Uncle Chopper, that could get away with hanging on the once feared hunter-turned pirate.
As always, they ran to greet him at the gate.
Another day saw Nami on the horizon, and the house was full again- if only for a while.
This of course, assumes they all LIVE to see 'retirement'... ^_~

Date: 2004-10-19 05:48 pm (UTC)I think Zoro and Sanji fighting would be enough to scare off anyone. ;)
