Title: Babysitting
Rating: G
Word count: 276
Pairing: Sorry, just fluff.
Notes: That last cut line got me thinkin'...
Zoro remembered the year Ussop's children were born, the surprise waiting for him that following visit. How tiny and helpless they looked, when he had promised to an emotional father that he would protect them so long as there was life in his body.
He remembered this, and tried to remind himself how cute they were then, when he had made that promise.
An eye twitched.
This was doing nothing to help him ignore the screeching madness the ‘angels’ were currently creating.
Still, Ussop had asked, and they all but clung to his legs as they found out- how could he say no?
He sighed and shifted, content to let them wear each other out, so long as there were no grievous injuries at the end of the day. He never claimed to be a good babysitter.
Suddenly it was quiet, and the fighter in him tensed, ready for an attack even as his eyes searched out the charges in his care. It was then that he realized they were looking at him. He froze then, realizing in horror that they had noticed him. There was a brief pause as they watched each other, sizing each other up- not unlike the instant before a battle started.
"Unkie Zoro!", they cried simultaneously, breaking the fragile moment and rushing to their unwitting playmate. Then they were on him- laughing, hugging, trying to climb him- and he couldn't find voice for the indignation that title inspired.
Somehow he knew, with absolute certainty, that that damn cook was behind this.
He suddenly grinned to himself, wondering what tomboyish habit he could teach them that would really get on Sanji's nerves.
I'm attempting to get someone to delete the other messed up post for me, since I'm suddenly blocked from it. Sorry~ (If you don't SEE the messed up post, it got fixed already. ^_^ )
