A/N: Probably not the kind of horror that is expected, but... it still fits the prompt in a different kind of way, so here we go~.

The Fantasy
He and Zeff and the Baratie decide to build a wall around themselves, and they do so, choosing each brick ever so carefully, as if one wrong decision will send it all tumbling to the ground. Each brick is special and held close.

The ones at the bottom contain images of joyful customers telling them all how grateful they are about the meals that they have been given. They contain memories of a little boy who only wishes to impress an old man who had saved his life way back when.

But the bottom is only the beginning, and there is still so far to go, and he and Zeff and the Baratie are running out of bricks to place, running out of time to keep them from sailing away from each other forever. And soon there is no choice but to place bricks that contain the darkness of the sea taking away their breaths and their lives, bricks that cause the sound of growling stomachs to ring through their ears, bricks that contain the violence and insults and false hatred that plague their lives.

The wall grows, and soon, there are no bricks left, but it is still so far from being complete. So he and Zeff and the Baratie find anything they can to help it grow. Belongings left behind by customers. Items floating in from the sea. Parts of their broken hearts.

And by the time that he realizes the wall is useless and that there is no Zeff and there is no Baratie and that it is only him building this wall with a past that is best left forgotten and with his desperate attempts to destroy his true dream, it is too late, because the true dream is already there to take him far away.
