Title: Up Top
Rating: PG
Word Count: 545. Failure? Sure.
Pairing: Zoro/Sanji
Topic: Amusement Park
I haven't written in forever. And I couldn't really bring myself to try and shorten this to the 300 word limit. But 545 seems drabble sized to me anyway.
Life is unfair Sanji thought bitterly as the cabin slowly rose towards its peak.
At an amusement park the most romantic thing any couple could hope to do is share a kiss at the top of the ferris wheel. So he bargained with the wheel operator and got a specific car for himself. On his way back to the ship to brush his teeth he saw Nami, gave her a ticket and said to wait for him in car 27.
Nami, though, had on her mind a different sort of wheel. The wheel of fortune played just like a game of roulette and Nami, seeing berri signs, started the wheels in her brain to think of a way out. Spotting her victim on her way towards the arcade area, instructions were issued that ended in the words "major debt reduction."
Sanji was giving himself a once-over when, above the house of mirrors he was in front of, he saw car 23 slowly make it's way up.
They'd be loading car 27 soon. Running around the buildings towards the ferris wheel, he saw car 27 on the ground with someone already inside. Giving the operator his ticket he got inside the gondola and stared straight into the eyes of none other than Roronoa Zoro.
"Gaah!" Sanji exclaimed trying to back out, but Zoro grabbed his arm. "What are you doing?!" Sanji said, struggling in Zoro's hold and, vaguely, he heard the sound of the car door shut behind him.
So that's how it came to be that Sanji was riding to the top of a ferris wheel with Zoro. Sanji's dreams were smashed and the more he thought about it the more morose he grew. The silence lay thick around them. And while they were trying to look at anything but each other Zoro glanced at Sanji after hearing a distinct sniffling noise.
"Shit," Sanji muttered, turning his face as far away from Zoro as possible.
Make him happy, she says, Zoro thought sourly. I haven't even said anything and he's crying.
"Why are you crying?" Zoro demanded, grabbing Sanji's shoulder to turn him towards him.
"I'm not crying," Sanji replied stubbornly, trying to remove Zoro's hand without much success. Staring out the window he could see that they were nearly at the top and he couldn't hold it in any longer. He forcefully freed himself of Zoro's hold and turned to him to shout. Because, really, life had dealt him a crap hand.
Zoro rolled his eyes and sighed. Seeing as how they were up top and it would be a while before they hit the ground again he decided on a way to shut Sanji up. He had already tried telling him to shut up and the man had screeched at him in a way a man should just never sound.
So Zoro kissed him. Zoro noticed the mint of the toothpaste Sanji had used. Sanji was too dumbfounded to think. And silence was granted once again.
Sanji, eyes wide, cheeks growing hot, after a moment of shock finally got it in his mind to push Zoro away.
Zoro smirked. There. No more shouting, no more crying, he thought triumphantly. Sanji, mouth agape, was thinking about how he had gotten his kiss at the top of a ferris wheel.
And then, much to Zoro's horror, the tears started again.

So yeah, I could have probably made it better and shorter... but I'm lazy. And lazy is as lazy does. Which is nothing.
