Rating: G
Pairing: Shanks/Ben
Wordcount: ~180
The stars were faint; Ben watched for them now and then through gaps in the clouds, more intent on listening to the sounds of the ship. Everything seemed normal, down to the familiar footfall coming quickly behind him. "How is it?" he asked. A body pressed against his back, warm in the cool air, and then Shanks slid past with an inquiring look. His bandages glowed in the faint light. Ben raised an eyebrow, not surprised but still taking it in. "Well, are you lighter or heavier like that?"
Shanks laughed. "..how? Just the same. You were waiting for something?"
"Something?"
"Morning?" Shank said, leaning in and raising both of his eyebrows, impatient but smiling.
"Not really."
"I'm waiting." When Ben just looked at him, Shanks shook his head, chuckling. "Making an injured man chase you around - how contemptible." He slapped Ben's back and turned the way he'd come, down to the cabin.
Ben watched him go, the white shoulder not fading against the darkness. He glanced once more around the deck of the ship, up to the sky, and followed.
