Zoro was the first. First crew member, first friend away from home, frist person who didn't know him from childhood that was protective to the point of stupidity. The first to teach (well, tried to teach) Luffy to fight with a weapon.
First to just watch his antics and not add to them or try to stop them. He was the frist to start training after being injured, the first to take watch, be it his turn or not. He was the first to get lost and the first to defend against trouble.
And he was his captain's first kiss.
