Hullo everybody. I'm Dandy, and I'm not a yaoi fangirl. O.O' I don't like it at all, actually. I do like super awesome guy on guy friendship, but I don't like it when it gets physical cuz.... Well, I just don't. *shrug*
However, after a lengthy conversation about Buggy and Shanks, leaper182 and mishagirl/allbluechaser forced convinced me to write this for here. For exposure or something, or at least that was their excuse for enticing me into writing Buggy/Shanks fluff for them. Sigh...
I'm too easily persuaded when it comes to challenges.
Anywho, I wrote this up, and it's late for judging, which is okay because if I had won then I would have had to judge, and being a non-yaoier that would be... odd. -_-' But I hope you all enjoy it anyway! It's pre-slashy cuz it's me writing it, but feel free to imagine whatever you want. I always leave stuff open to interpretation. ^^
I really want to give this full-length treatment sometime. As friendship, though.

Buggy strutted confidently across the deck (read: snuck around behind some crates), smirking at all the older pirates (read: trying not to catch anyone’s eye). He was certainly not looking for that flashy red-haired bastard, but he found him anyway, chatting with some of their crewmates. He watched from a neutral distance (read: from behind a crate two yards away).
He had to envy the way his fellow cabin boy meshed so easily with the rest of Roger’s crew, though that was to be expected from someone who had been legitimately recruited rather than found hiding between the apple and water barrels. He fit in with an ease that Buggy didn’t wish for himself (read: couldn’t seem to accomplish no matter how he tried).
The older men wandered off, chatting together, and Shanks was alone. Buggy continued to watch from behind his crate as the redhead hopped onto the railing and stared out at the sea, watching the fish that skipped in the ship’s wake. Buggy slipped forward with the intention of pushing Shanks into the ocean below (read: sitting beside him and maybe having a real conversation and not just an argument).
He decided to spare the other boy and instead hopped onto the railing next to him.
“Man, why are you always showing up, flashy bastard?” he demanded, settling down. “You following me or something?”
Shanks smirked in that way that pissed Buggy off (read: smiled, the nicest Buggy had ever seen). “And here I thought you were following me.”
“ME? Follow YOU? Yeah right.”
Shanks laughed, then looked back out at the sea. “Yeah, I guess that is stupid.”
Buggy laughed as well. “It’s just because you’re so flashily stupid. You’re the only reason I would ever want to leave this crew.”
